We’re Going Green: Proud to Join the Green Circle Salons Movement
We’re excited to share some big (and very meaningful) news — our salon is officially joining the sustainability movement by partnering with Green Circle Salons.
This step represents our commitment to reducing waste, protecting the environment, and making the beauty industry a little more beautiful — inside and out.
What Is Green Circle Salons?
Green Circle Salons is an organization dedicated to helping salons drastically reduce their environmental footprint. Through innovative recycling and recovery programs, they ensure that salon waste is diverted from landfills and repurposed in responsible, impactful ways.
With this partnership, up to 95% of our beauty waste can now be recovered and reused instead of being thrown away.
What Happens to Salon Waste?
Many everyday salon materials are difficult — or impossible — to recycle through standard municipal systems. Through Green Circle Salons, items that were once considered waste are given a second life, including:
Hair clippings → used for oil spill cleanups and sustainable product development
Unused hair colour → safely processed to create clean water and clean energy
Foils, colour tubes, and aerosol cans → cleaned, melted down, and repurposed into new materials such as bicycles and building products
This process keeps millions of pounds of waste out of landfills every year — and we’re proud to now be part of that solution.
Last year alone, Green Circle Salons’ Waste Warrior community helped to:
Keep 1,358,103 lbs of beauty waste out of landfills and waterways
Generate 85,866 kWh of clean energy was generated from Waste to Energy. That’s enough to power 94 homes for a month or charge over 7,000,000 smartphones!
Avoided 2,742.95 metric tons of Co2e by keeping 1,358,103 lbs of beauty waste (like hair clippings, hair colour, PPE, and other single-use items) out of the landfill. That’s the same as taking 610 cars off the road for a full year.
What This Means for Our Clients
Sustainability is a shared effort, and transparency is important to us.
Starting March 1st, we will be adding a 1% Green Fee to each invoice.
This small fee directly supports:
Professional recycling and waste recovery
Sustainable salon operations
Cleaner water, cleaner energy, and reduced landfill waste
Every dollar goes toward maintaining our participation in this program and ensuring that our salon continues operating in an environmentally responsible way.
